The rise of the Internet and e-commerce has made cybercrime one of the fastest-growing areas of crime in Spain. Of the more than 110,000 cybercrimes, 88,760 were computer fraud, 11,960 were related to threats and coercion, and 3,095 were computer forgery.

These are the most common cybercrimes

Increasing society's knowledge of the different cybercrimes line data is the best way to prevent them and avoid becoming a victim of one. Let's look at some of the most common cybercrimes today:

Targeted ransomware . Ransomware is a type of malware (malicious program) that blocks devices or encrypts their content in order to extort the owner to return access to said resources in exchange for a sum of money. When, instead of being carried out indiscriminately, it is perpetrated against someone in particular - a city, a government, a company... - it is known as targeted ransomware. As explained by Panda Security , "cybercriminals who carry out this type of attack choose companies based on the vulnerabilities existing in the organization, that is, their activity is not random. Therefore, if a company receives a targeted ransomware attack, the attack has a high probability of being successful."
Targeted ransomware can affect all types of businesses regardless of size, so advanced cybersecurity is the best way to prevent such an attack.

Deepfakes . The word Deepfake is a combination of the terms deep learning , which refers to the deep learning of artificial intelligence systems, and fake , which means fake. The goal is none other than to use artificial intelligence to generate fake content. Most of the time, they are video manipulations in which software analyzes the source material and extracts part of it, then inserts and adapts it into another video. One of the latest examples of deepfake has been the video of actress Jennifer Lawrence with the face of actor Steve Buscemi, giving a speech.
