Social media trends are evolving rapidly and companies are constantly working on improving their services. The most important thing for Q4 2022 was the focus on video, the integration of e-commerce across all platforms, and competitive ways of monetizing creators to keep them on their respective platforms and not see them migrate.

We've structured this landscape by networks, some of which are announcin investors mailing address list g or have already rolled out an update, and others are announcing multiple updates. Recently, Elon Musk caused the biggest waves in the industry when it was reported that the South African billionaire had bought the short messaging service for around $44 billion after a long back-and-forth. Read an introduction to the topic on Kolsquare, including how Musk's ideas can change Twitter and what that can mean for influencer marketing on Twitter .

But back to the November 2022 updates: we start with Twitter, as mentioned, and then explain what TikTok is planning. Afterwards, we delve into what Instagram is currently working on, and later we explain what YouTube is up to.

New call to action
Twitter introduces a monthly payment model
A blue checkmark means a profile is verified. We know this from Instagram or even Tinder. Users can be sure they are looking at a real profile on their screen. On Twitter, however, Musk now wants to make users pay for a verification checkmark. As the Washington Post reports , for just $7.99 a month Twitter users get a “ blue checkmark […] just like the celebrities, businesses and politicians they already follow .”

The editor of the Washington paper, Geoffrey A. Fowler , wanted to know more precisely and find out what a verified Twitter account actually means and what users get for their money. In consultation with comedian Blaire Erskines, he created a second fake profile for her. Just 15 minutes later, Erskines' second - and therefore fake - account also had a blue tick. Fowler therefore concludes that a blue tick on Twitter no longer means what we have learned it to mean. He criticizes : This " makes Twitter a much less reliable source of information ."
