Whenever we talk about talent hunters, we give advice on what they are looking for, what they want and who they are. We rarely talk about the point of view of the real protagonist of this whole story and around whom all the actions revolve: the candidate. We have entered our Human Resources department to chat with David Seijas and Rosa Ana Blach, two of the people in charge of, among other things, managing the talent that enters Femxa. We have asked them about the curriculum, the personal brand and the most sought-after skills. We even got them to tell us what Femxa is for them. Do you want to know all the secrets? Perfect!

It all started with a survey we launched on our Social Networks a few weeks ago. In it, we asked you without hesitation what you were asked when looking for a job .

The answer gave us a clue about your experiences: 66.7% of you think that companies are very demanding because they take advantage of the high unemployment rate.

This gave us something to think about and we wanted to compare the information. In this post we are going to take a look at the Curriculum Vitae , Personal Brand , training and skills .

The perfect resume
The obvious thing was to start the interview with the basics: what do you look for in a CV that will catch your attention?

Rosa Ana breaks the ice by admitting that she cannot help but “like CVs that arrive with an attractive presentation. That is, that clearly show, in short and simple sentences, what you want to highlight. We want it to be the first tool to get to know you. Both the format and the wording have to be in line with what is requested in the job offer.”

No more taking a template and copying and pasting. Your CV should reflect you in an elegant and original way. It should also include a series of basic details such as:

Personal data (up-to-date phone number!).
Current place of residence (to see if you can join immediately).
Training (in ascending order).
Professional Experience (highlighting years of experience and tasks performed).

What about other skills? David says that “many candidates do not include cross-disciplinary training, or at least not the kind that benefits them.”

What is transversal training? That which you have acquired without the need for official qualifications but which give you skills in some areas. For example, you may have taken a free Photoshop course with which you obtained a Diploma of Achievement.

Should I include it? Of course I should. You can do it in a section called “Other training” or “Skills” and enter everything related to these courses there.

It is also advisable that if you have any skills you should highlight them, such as, for example, everything related to computing or some digital competence . “It is vital. Social networks are becoming more and more important both in the personal and professional field. In fact, it is closely linked to what is known as personal branding since we can get to know you as a professional and as a person and that is important to know if we want to include you in our organization. Knowing how to navigate the digital landscape is a clear plus point,” says Rosa Ana.

job interview

At this point we pose the question that has surely arisen in recent years in which digital professionals are on the rise:

“Yes, it is essential. The old concept of looking for a job, where you printed 100 copies of your CV and distributed them everywhere, is over. Now, 94% of recruiters use LinkedIn. You can be on other professional networks, but it is true that this one in particular has the most active users. But you have to be clear about what you are going to feed it. There is nothing worse than going into a profile and seeing that it was created in 2008 and has not been updated. LinkedIn, unlike a CV, is a living thing,” David replies emphatically.

Build yourself: Personal Brand
Everything we have been telling you contributes to creating a profile that combines your personal and professional self because, let's face it, you can't separate them. And this is the definition of Personal Brand . Watch the following video and soak it all in!

You are now ready: you have made a small assessment of yourself, you have brazil mobile phone numbers database established your starting point and your goal as a professional.

Now, it’s time to open your profile and complete it . “Upload a suitable profile photo, fill in all the items, cover your skills and abilities and start networking based on where you want to be seen and which professionals you need to follow. Participate in discussion forums, create a portfolio, keep up to date with the sector: in short, show your potential,” explains our colleague David.

The ideal candidate
Because, and if it is not yet clear to you, I will emphasize this, in addition to cold data about studies and experience, recruiters hire people. Therefore, they want to know your interests, what you like to do in your free time, if you work in a team, are polite and proactive. I am not referring to personal data that should not influence the hiring process.

In one of our last Facebook posts you mentioned your concern about some companies asking questions related to your private life: “Are you getting married? Do you want to have children? Do you have any dependents?” NO. That is illegal and, of course, should not influence your hiring.

Easy to understand, don't you think? I'll give you a brief summary of everything: recruiters have gone from attracting workers to incorporating talent. Although experience is still sought, there are more and more job offers that are looking for candidates with enthusiasm, passion for what they do and flexibility.

Individual work is on the decline and teamwork is on the rise. If you manage to reflect all this in your CV, you will have a chance, even if there are 300 other candidates like you in a selection process.

Forget about cold and boring templates that say nothing about your personality. Show who you are, open a profile on LinkedIn and even make a video CV . Why not? Take heed of our colleague David's words: “You have to keep moving, not stagnant!”
