Breadcrumb trails are used to facilitate navigation between individual

There are very few websites where all web pages are at the same level. Much more often, individual web pages are divided into groups and further subgroups. They are classified into individual categories or sections. Breadcrumb trails are used to facilitate orientation between the individual pages of a given website and to give a better idea of their hierarchy.

What is breadcrumb navigation?
Breadcrumb navigation shows the position of a luxembourg phone number data given web page in the overall hierarchy of the site.

Breadcrumb navigation provides information about pages that are parent to a given web page. It consists of a series of links, where the first represents the home page of the website and the last is a link to the page itself. To the left of the given web page, the parent pages are then placed in the breadcrumb navigation - see example:

Books › Technology, industry › Mechanical engineering › Tables › Mechanical engineering tables

Breadcrumbs as structured data
While previously a special numbered list was used to code breadcrumb navigation, which brought a number of complications, currently its implementation is preferred using so-called microdata. This not only makes the work easier for coders, it also makes breadcrumb navigation much clearer for users and search engine robots. It is classified as structured data, which allows search engines to better understand the content of the website.

Structured data is currently used mainly by the Google search engine, with the Czech search engine Seznam lagging behind. Breadcrumb navigation is an exception among structured data. For now, it is the only representative of structured data that Seznam takes into account. It can even display a website's breadcrumb navigation in search results. This also applies to Google.
