AcoresPRO wants to expand its business and reach new markets

After the difficult times when the business started in a garage in 2008, Filipe Raposo and his partner Marco Ferreira managed to expand the business and, 12 years later, they have two well-established companies. AcoresPRO, managed by Filipe Raposo, has a strong focus on digital marketing. In addition, they develop customized platforms, create websites and mobile applications, among other things. In this interview, we learned how the company works, how it is experiencing these times and what its prospects for the future are.

Let's start from the beginning of the story. When did AcoresPRO come into being?
We started in 2008 in my parents' garage, which must have been about 3 meters by 6 meters. It was a small space, but it was the way we found to get started because, after all, my parents aren't rich. My friend chinese america data was unemployed at the time and I was finishing my degree. There was no money, no credit, no rich parents, nothing (laughs). We spent almost two years there without receiving a salary. What we earned was used to invest in computers, software and materials, and that's how we managed to have something. After that, we managed to hire people. It started with a lot of hard work and sacrifice.



Were the first few times difficult?
We started this project and our studies were put on hold for a while because it is really hard for someone to dedicate themselves to a business and, to make it work, you have to be completely dedicated. If an entrepreneur wants to start a business, they can't, for example, start at 9am and finish at 5pm or 6pm. It doesn't work that way because businesses require creativity to overcome problems that we often don't know about and that we have to solve. Things that we've never done but that we have to learn and solve. That's a bit like the life of an entrepreneur. Marco Ferreira and I started out as half-partners, with only AcoresPRO, which basically involved making websites on one side of the garage and on the other side we repaired computers and provided IT support. Then, four years ago, we decided to separate the companies. We have AcoresPRO, which focuses on digital marketing, and we have PCBEM, which focuses on selling IT equipment.



Do you remember the first website you created?
If I'm not mistaken, I think it was for a recreational scuba diving company. It was completely different from what it is today because the first few years were very difficult. We had nothing and we would literally go knocking on clients' doors and introduce ourselves with only 2 or 3 websites in our portfolio. No one knew us and it was very tough. We would submit to almost everything the client asked for and with no guarantees.



What exactly is AcoresPRO's business area?
We focus on digital marketing, which is still marketing but aimed at the online world, the internet. For example, we can create a website and enhance it so that the client gets the best possible return on their investment. We define a strategy for social media and what type of content the client should publish, when they should publish it and how often. It's more than that, but it's always aimed at the online world and there are numerous services around it. As we have a large team, we have 16 people in the company, everything is done in-house: design, programming, social media, logo creation , mobile applications, among other things.
