Optimization of AdWords video campaigns

As with ads in the search and display network, the actual optimization work begins with the granular setup and alignment of the campaign: You can create different targeting groups that you can align according to interests and topics and into which you can also incorporate demographic characteristics - increasingly since the update of the TrueView formats. Since these targeting options essentially correspond to those of the GDN and I have already described them elsewhere, I would like to refer you here to my article on advertising in the Google Display Network .

call-to-action overlay
We recommend using a call-to-action overlay, especially for in-stream ads. These transparent classified ads, which are located at the bottom left above the video, can be provided with a thumbnail, a one-line algeria phone number data text and a clickable link. If you are advertising a product, for example, you can use this to link directly to the relevant landing page . This way you can use another option in addition to the target URL of the videos.

companion banner
In addition to the overlay, a companion banner can also be added to the InStream format . This banner is delivered to the right above the list of suggested similar videos and can also be provided with a click link. Here, too, we recommend that you do not leave this option unused. Ideally, you adapt the design of the video campaign in order to create a coherent image and a recognizable connection on the one hand, but also not to leave the branding effects unused on the other.

remarketing
You should also not forget the option of creating remarketing lists for advertising on YouTube . It is relatively easy to use various options under "shared libraries" in the subsection video remarketing lists to be able to address viewers repeatedly. For example, viewers of certain videos, subscribers to channels, viewers of similar videos, and many more.

Advertising on YouTube: also relevant for small companies
Video campaigns for YouTube are an exciting field that should also be interesting for smaller companies in terms of price, as a large reach of the target group or need group can be achieved with relatively little resources (apart from the video production) and the control options are becoming more and more precise. It will be interesting to see how video advertising will develop in the next few years. At the moment, great branding effects can be achieved here at reasonable prices.
