Gartner's Magic Quadrant for BI and Analytics Platforms, based on the criteria of completeness of vision and ability to execute, highlighted Qlik Sense for the eighth consecutive time. In this note we explain what this report consists of, what variables it considers relevant and what strengths Gartner found in Qlik.
What does it consist of?
The American consulting firm Gartner, specialized in market analysis for the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector, publishes every year (since 1992) the “Magic Quadrant” report for BI and analytics platforms. It consists of a Competitiveness Matrix that represents, at a global level, the strategic position in the market of BI platform players.
What are the evaluation criteria?
The classification is made according to two fundamental parameters:
X-axis: “Integrity of vision”
It takes into account: market understanding, marketing and sales strategy, approach to product development and delivery, business model and innovation, among other issues.
Y axis: “Ability to execute”
It takes into account: main products and services offered poland number data according to their quality and characteristics, evaluation of the financial health of the organization in general, sales execution and pricing, response capacity or market registration and customer experience, among others.
BI and analytics platforms are analyzed based on infrastructure, data management, content creation and analysis, sharing of findings, and overall capabilities. Five use cases are considered: Agile and centralized BI delivery, Decentralized analytics, Governed data discovery, OEM or embedded BI, and Extranet Implementation.
Qlik is positioned in the “Leaders” quadrant
The position of each BI market player in the “Magic Quadrant” determines their level of competitiveness. There are four quadrants:
“Leaders”: These are vendors that demonstrate a strong understanding of product capabilities and commitment to customer success. Qlik Sense falls into this quadrant.
“Challengers”: These are well positioned to succeed in the market. However, they may be limited to specific use cases, technical environments, or application domains.
“Visionaries”: They have a strong and unique vision to deliver a modern BI and analytics platform. They are innovative but their ability to scale and deliver consistent execution can be questioned.
“Niche Players”: Successful in a specific segment of the analytics and BI market, but may have limited ability to innovate or outperform other vendors.
What did Gartner highlight about Qlik?
Qlik’s position in the Leaders quadrant is driven by progress on its augmented analytics roadmap, improvements in marketing strategy, and ease of use.
