Mission of a company
The mission is the ultimate goal of a company. It is the foundation stone, what marks its existence.
Answer the question: why does this company exist?
The importance of the mission is that it defines the identity of the company. And that is why you have to be very careful with the mission, because it is limiting.
Many companies that were thinking about diversifying their business, such as moving from beverages to music (diversification strategy according to Ansoff), were unable to do so because their mission limited them.
The solution? Change the mission or stick to it.
