Even in March 2012, Microsoft's Internet Explorer is still the world's number 1 desktop browser . With 53.8%, IE is far ahead of its competitors, such as Firefox ( 20.6% ), Google's Chrome ( 18.6% ), Apple's Safari ( 5.1% ) and Opera ( 1.6% ).
Worldwide mobile browser usage
The situation is completely different when it comes to worldwide mobile belize phone data browser usage . According to CNET News, Apple's Safari is still clearly in the lead with over 60.5% . Google's Android comes in second with 18.3%, and Opera Mini comes in third with 15.4%. Internet Explorer only has a share of 0.5%.
Mobile surfing on the Internet is increasing. However, the use of desktop browsers is also showing constant growth. In March 2012, the share of desktop browser usage was 92.5% compared to mobile browser usage at 7.2%.
We will have to wait and see if and how browser usage will change over the course of the year.
