Under the shadow of the Manhattan skyscrapers, the most important events of the New York Summit 2018 took place on Monday 22 and Tuesday 23 October 2018: “Inspiring Committed Leaders”.
The strength of the Spanish-speaking community was consolidated over four days of analyzing the characteristics of the society of our time . The development of people and countries , the empowerment chinese america data of women , the value of human capital and our impacts , both at the individual, collective and corporate level, were questioned with a single goal: to understand the nature of decisions.
In this way, at Bureau Veritas Training we were able, through a meeting between people of 17 different nationalities , to put a face to the personification of values, the execution of actions, motivating leadership and commitment .
Corporate ethics
As a summary, I would like to gather a series of ideas presented by some of the speakers whom we had the pleasure of hearing in person. For example, the reflections of Bernardo Kliksberg , father of Social Management and Ethics for Development , and advisor to the UN , who stressed the crisis of values in which we are currently immersed and which is evident, at a corporate level, with the fact that companies do not focus on the ends but on the means.

In this situation, a thread of hope illuminates our conscience in corporate actions, and a social impulse is being consolidated that forces companies to consider corporate responsibility (CR) as an essential part of their strategy. An aspect in which technology, always hand in hand with ethics, constitutes an expectation of great value, and where the role of women , with their strengthening in the corporate sphere, will be another of the mechanisms with which ethics will be consolidated in the business world .
Sustainable consumption
On the other hand, as a manifestation of a direct action typical of ethical and responsible behavior , we would like to highlight the intervention of Jesús Linares , a researcher and scientific advisor on climate change, who highlighted the role of the consumer in a sustainable economic model , given his power of decision, purchase, and voting, as well as his own example as a member of a group.
