Facebook and Instagram announced this August the new rules to follow for Facebook Ads. Although the square format for ads has been available since last year, new guidelines to follow came into force on August 19.
The changes mainly concern:
The copy , which will be shown only for the first 3 lines of text (corresponding to 125 characters);
The creativity of image and video formats that I must not exceed 4/5.
Unfortunately, even today I see many ads with the old 1200x628 and therefore importance of lawyer database still with the old format.
Any advice?
Always try to follow Facebook Ads updates by respecting the rules and adopting the new features right away: it's always worthwhile! So the advice is:
Little text in ads (max 3 lines, 125 characters)
Square format images and 4/5 video
Avoid text on the image or reduce it as much as possible
Also check out Facebook’s video template gallery: you’ll notice lengths from 6 to 15 seconds . This is another clear sign of people’s attention span, avoid slow and long video content, probably no one will see it 100%.
9/11 - Learning phase not completed
Another key point for advertising campaigns on Facebook and which ties in with what was said in the previous points. Campaigns have a learning phase that allows the system to self-optimize starting from the data. Before intervening, make sure you have enough data ( 50 conversions in 7 days ) and use the conversion events that reach this minimum amount of data.
