SMS marketing personalization

Post by moniyamukta16 »

3. Using inappropriate language
Now let's talk about language. I know only too well how difficult this exercise is on such a small number of characters, but it is totally doable! Always try to adopt a tone that matches your target audience , but above all that reflects your brand identity. Stay authentic and accessible as on any other communication medium. Please, philippines whatsapp avoid the telegram effect of the style: "Big promo. Click to get the code." and try to inject a little emotion as much as possible!

I'll stop for a moment on emojis though. Although they can be lively and dynamic, I advise you to handle them with caution and sparingly. Indeed, they count a lot of characters when sending your SMS, and reduce the limit from 160 to 70. So... beware of unpleasant surprises! 😬

4. Ignore character constraints
Speaking of which... Remember, an SMS is limited to 160 characters . So you're going to have to get used to being concise and able to summarize! And this is crucial, because if you exceed the limit, your sending will not count you one but two SMS! Multiplied by the number of contacts in your segment, I'll let you do the math... You might bitterly regret it.

My advice is therefore obviously to always keep an eye on your character limit. But also to test your variables in the worst possible conditions (with a long first name, like Marie-Léopoldine for example).
