Present like never before: Tips for that English presentation

Post by bitheerani319 »

The day has come and you've been asked to give the presentation... but it turns out to be in English. Not only do you have to deal with the normal nerves of speaking in front of an audience, but also those of doing so in a language that isn't your own.

In this article we will present you with a series of tips to make it a little less complicated and to help you communicate to your audience everything you want to say:

Trust that you know what you are talking about : the topic you have to talk about is probably very close to you and that is why you have been given it. So, do not hesitate and trust that you will do it wonderfully.
Write down what you would like to say: first an outline in your native language belgium phone number list then translate it into English. Write it as elegantly as possible and look up words you don't know and synonyms for words you think you repeat a lot. You have to feel very comfortable with the vocabulary you are going to use.
Practice: Don't memorize a speech, but take notes and practice. If possible, do so in front of a person who speaks English better than you so that they can ask you questions and correct your pronunciation.
Prepare visual aids: We all know that presentations where someone reads what is on the Power Point are very boring – however, it is not about reading. It is about having a support so that you can complement what you say and also have help: for example, the words that sometimes fail you. Do not write directly what you want to say in your presentation because you will tend to read it directly.
Create a very specific structure for your presentation: presentation of the topic and who you are, definition of the subject you will talk about and the sections in which you will present, and questions and answers.
