These new entrepreneurs have several opportunities

The first half of 2022 saw a positive balance for the formalization of new Individual Microentrepreneurs (MEIs) in Limeira. According to data from the Simples Nacional (National Simples), obtained by the Department of Development, Tourism, and Innovation, the municipality registered 2,164 new registrations for this type of company. In total, as of June, Limeira had 28,650 active MEIs.

Among the most sought-after branches for formalization currently, according to the shop National Classification of Economic Activities (CNAE), are beauty activities (such as hairdressing, barbering, manicures and pedicures), with 1,826 individual microentrepreneurs, retail trader of clothing and accessories (1,731) and bricklayers (1,341).

Vanessa Buzolin, the department's Special Advisor for Public Management, explains that this formalization guarantees numerous benefits to Individual Microentrepreneurs.

"In addition to meeting their tax obligations with a fixed amount, for their business, such as INSS (National Institute of Social Security) payments, hiring employees, differentiated credit options, among other advantages," she states.

The Limeira Entrepreneur Room, coordinated by the Department of Development, Tourism and Innovation in partnership with Sebrae Aqui, provides free assistance to new entrepreneurs in the MEI category, in the correct opening of the company, according to the intended field of activity, and guides each stage of this process, such as changes, closure, annual declaration and issuance of the monthly contribution (DAS).
