Determine search intent by shopping ads

Post by Reddi1 »

For search queries that are clearly commercially driven, shopping ads are usually also displayed, as the search query "order moisturizing cream" shows. In the above example of the search term "moisturizing cream", shopping ads are missing. Here, the degree of commercialism does not seem to be quite as high as with "order moisturizing cream". Here, too, user data in the form of the ad CTR is decisive as to whether Google decides on text or shopping ads and could simultaneously apply this information to the organic search results.

You can also verify the search intent for each keyword using the CPC. Commercial keywords usually have a high CPC compared to informational keywords, for example. However, I would only use this iran phone number data criterion for verification and not for determination, as there can also be very high-volume informational keywords with high CPCs.

If you have access to the CTR data for a keyword, you can also use this click rate for verification. Various studies have shown that the click rate on ads for informational keywords is lower than for commercial keywords. However, since this depends heavily on the ad text and ad position, this criterion should be treated with caution.

How do you determine local/regional user intent?
There are several ways to determine the locality or regionality of keywords. I would like to discuss two of these options below. It is important that the browser is as "history-free" as possible, i.e. the web log data is clean and you are not logged into your Google account. You can find out more about "deleting activities in the web log" here at Google . Using the Google Chrome Incognito mode is one option. Google records significantly less information here. However, the location information is still used - more about the Incognito mode at Google .

The first option is to search for a keyword such as “workshop” on Google. In my case, I am searching from a desktop PC at the Hannover Nordstadt location:

werkstatt_hannover

The first indication of the regionality of the keyword "werkstatt" is the mybusiness box above the organic search results. But that alone is not enough, because Google also likes to deliver these boxes for keywords with very little or no locality "on a test basis". Based on the page titles, you can already see that this is probably a regional search term. The identical search query again via a proxy server located in Montabaur produces the following picture:
